Colombo, January 2025 — In keeping with longstanding tradition and spiritual observance, Sakura Power Solutions held its Annual Pirith Chanting Ceremony on the night of January 15–16, at the company premises in Colombo. The ceremony aimed to invoke blessings for peace, health, and success for all employees, their families, and the wider community.
The event began with the construction of a “Pirith Mandapa” (temporary canopy), beautifully decorated with traditional motifs and lighting. Over 30 monks from various temples were invited; the chanting continued overnight, interspersed with sermons, recitations, and meditation sessions.
At dawn, the “Heel Daana” (offering) was made to the monks, followed by a communal alms procession. Employees expressed that the ceremony helped them reflect and re-align for the year ahead.
A senior monk who led the ceremony remarked: “The chanting of Pirith is a powerful practice that reminds us of our interdependence and peace of mind. By observing it together, the Sakura family renews its commitment towards ethical conduct and compassion.”
