Colombo, September 2024 — Sakura Power Solutions hosted its much‐anticipated 2024 Annual Cricket Tournament last weekend at the Royal Colombo Grounds, bringing together employees, partners, and clients in a spirited test of skill, teamwork, and friendly rivalry.
Over 15 teams competed in the event, among them squads from engineering, installations, sales & marketing, and partner companies. The final match, played between the “Solar Knights” and “Ray of Light XI”, was a thrilling affair: tied at the end of regular overs, the outcome was decided in a super over where Solar Knights edged out Ray of Light by just two runs.
In addition to the cricket matches, the tournament featured:
A family day: spouses, children and extended family members joined a picnic, face-painting, food stalls, and games, helping foster community among employees.
A charity component: ticket sales proceeds donated to “Solar Education Initiative”, a Sakura Power-Solutions program that provides solar lighting to underprivileged rural schools.
Booths showcasing Sakura’s latest solar solutions: interactive displays of the newly launched Leapton Tier-1 modules, and live performance stats from installations.
